The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series differs vastly from its stock counterpart thanks to packing a 6.2-liter V8 under the hood driving the rear wheels with 631 PS (622 hp / 464 kW) and 635 Nm (468 lb-ft) of torque. The suspension is also sports-focused and 10 mm (0.4 inches) lower than stock. So, how would it fare on a German speedway? AutoTopNL has the answer for you.
Before you watch the acceleration test, note that the Black Series package swaps a host of SLS body parts for carbon-fiber ones, dropping the weight of the car by 70 kilos (154 pounds). According to the manual, the car can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and ultimately get to 315 km/h (195 mph).
The goal of the video was to try and hit the top speed mentioned above in real-world conditions. Did the SLS live up to the hype? Hit Play and find out!
