The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter counts among the world’s most popular base cars for motorhome conversions. The example in the 19-minute video below is no exception, and it had the advantage of being built by a married couple with pre-existing experience in this business.
Their first work was a home on wheels based on a large, unwieldy bus. Having driven it for a while, they agreed that they needed something rather more compact and agile. The first thing they did when they acquired the Sprinter was to outfit it with a full-fledged kitchen. Per the wife, she loves to cook and needs everything in the kitchen to be properly organized. There is an electric stove, a large sink, a slide-out storage cabinet and much more besides.
There is also a shower room and a WC on board, a living room doubling as a study with an L-shaped sofa, and a large bed that you can fold away to a wall to maximize space.
A 600-Ah battery and roof-mounted solar panels ensure all the appliances on board stay adequately powered, and there is a dedicated device for quick charging. A diesel heater is available for the cold season and two ceiling fans for the summertime.
The couple has been living in this Sprinter home for two years already and is now thinking of trading it for yet another one – with extra room on board for a small child.
