MG returns to the idea of affordable sports cars

British automaker MG Motor will be celebrating its 100th birthday in 2024 and has some ambitious goals set for that date, such as expanding sales geography to 100 markets and producing 1,000,000 cars annually.

In order to achieve these goals, the company – which is currently owned by China – wants to attract new target audiences. The 2021 Cyberster Concept should evolve into a whole family of tech-heavy cars appealing to the younger demographic. While not official, it seems like the first production car based on that concept may debut closer to 2024.

An MG representative mentioned in a recent interview that the marque used to produce wallet-friendly sports cars, and promised that the Cyberster will be considerably simplified compared to the original design in order to be affordable.
