MG Cyberster set to reach Europe in 2024

MG, formerly a British car brand and now part of SAIC Group (China), has arrived at the Shanghai Auto Show with an electric roadster dubbed the Cyberster – a compact-sized soft-top ride with multiple powertrain options.

The electric vehicle is based on the same-name concept car from two years ago. It will first go on sale in China, but will also arrive in Europe next year. Compared to the original concept, the production car looks much tamer, but keeps its aggressive body outlines, sophisticated bumpers and unusual lighting all around. The doors swing open upwards, Lamborghini-style.

The body is 4,535 mm long, 1,913 mm wide, 1,329 mm tall and runs on a wheelbase spanning 2,690 mm. In the most basic version, the Cyberster uses a single e-motor to drive the wheels with 314 PS (310 hp / 231 kW). Paying extra nets you a RWD modification with 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) at its disposal. Going for the top spec gets you an dual-motor AWD spec with 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW) under its command.

There are no official sprint times yet, but earlier rumors claimed the top spec would be capable of a 3-second sprint.
