The big reveal of the MG X-Motion Concept SUV could easily be counted among the most anticipated events of the Auto China 2018. The car should reach production stage no later than early next year.
The all-new MG X-Motion Concept uses the Roewe RX8/Maxus D90 chassis. Not surprising, given that Maxus, Roewe and MG are all brand names owned by the same group of companies, SAIC.
With its cellular radiator grille, narrow headlights, deep-seated fog lamps and massive door sills, the car looks really fresh and up-to-date. Its dimensions aren’t being specified, but the manufacturer says there will be seats for five people, and a seven-seat version may follow at a later date.
According to preliminary data, the car will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine good for 224 hp (167 kW). Gear switching will be accomplished via Aisin six-speed automatic transmission.
MG promises to make the car available with rear and all-wheel drive.
