MG Motor has come to the Chengdu Motor Show with a flagship version of its Cyberster EV. The luxury roadster first appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year, but the details have only been revealed now. Sales in China are set to start later in the year, and Europe will follow in 2024.
In its most powerful specification, the Cyberster uses dual electric motors to drive the wheels with 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW) and 725 Nm (535 lb-ft) of torque. It takes 3.2 seconds to launch to a hundred kilometers per hour and gets up to 580 km (360 miles) of range from a full charge.
Data submitted to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and IT in April suggests that the entry-level/RWD version of the roadster will make do with a single e-motor at the rear axle and 314 PS (310 hp / 231 kW). A smaller 64-kWh battery will give it 520 km (323 miles) of range.
The media learned a while ago that the MG Cyberster would start from £55,000 in the UK (roughly $69,000). In China, the entry-level/RWD spec will allegedly cost a low $33,000.
