Renowned Frontline MGB V8 LE60 comes to America

UK-based Frontline Cars will be attending this year’s Monterey Car Week in California with one of its finer restomods based on the iconic MG MGB. While many of these restored cars run on four cylinders, the one seen here packs a full-fledged Rover V8.

The mill outputs 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW) to the wheels, about four times as much as the original did back in the 1960s and ‘70s. A Tremec manual transmission carries the torque to the rear end through a limited-slip differential. Frontline additionally reinforces every chassis and widens the track for added stability in corners. Needless to say, the body and the cabin get a full renovation as well.

The important bit here is that Frontline Cars is finally bringing its restomods to the United States. The Monterey example is left-hand-drive and road-legal. There is no mention of the price, but the tuner’s website lists used four-cylinder examples for the equivalent of U.S. $120,000–147,000. The eight-banger could cost a fair bit more than that.
