British car manufacturer MINI plans to release a limited series of just 3,000 John Cooper Works GP hot hatchbacks in 2020. Each car will get a powerful engine rated at 300 hp (224 kW).
Based on the teaser images released earlier today, the exterior of the car mimics that of the namesake prototype the company introduced at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. A large diffusor, a two-piece rear wing, a dual-pipe exhaust system and new alloy rims seem to be its main distinguishing features.
Rumors claim the John Cooper Works GP will also take advantage of lightweight body and chassis components, performance brakes, and various tweaks made to the suspension and chassis.
As for the engine, changes are good that the car will end up with a revised and boosted version of the standard turbocharged V4 mill that makes 231 hp (172 kW) on the current-gen MINI JCW.
