An old Mini gets slapped with $80,000 worth of upgrades

How much would be reasonable to pay to upgrade and customize a vintage Mini? Ten, twenty, thirty thousand? Minitec, from the U.S. state of Georgia, believes that $80,000 is more like it.

The full scope of modifications is shockingly extensive. The car comes equipped with an all-wheel drive system borrowed from a Honda CR-V, a secondary frame, height-adjustable suspension and racing-spec seats. That said, the tuner claims it was the carbon widebody kit that ate most of the money.

Among other things, this particular Mini also boasts LED headlights, limited-slip differentials on both axles, a Hondata S3000 control module, reinforced brakes, and a custom exhaust system.
