All cars to be issued by MINI starting March, 2018 will receive a new brand logo which has been recently revealed in a presentation.
The first vehicle to don the new emblem was the MINI Electric Concept which debuted at the IAA Frankfurt 2018.
The new logo has a modern simplified/flat appearance with the company name written on it in capitals. Compare this to the old 3D logo used since 2011.
The rebranding hardly seems accidental if you consider the fact that since September 1, 2017 MINI is headed by the 42-year old Oliver Heilmer, former BMW Interior Designer and a senior manager at Designworks. Interestingly, despite the change in leadership, the MINI team has kept exterior designer Christopher Weil and color/material designer Kirsten Schmeiding.
