Mini previews new design language

Mini is busy developing a new lineup of products, and the British automaker has confirmed that a new design language is coming along with them. Called Charismatic Simplicity, it will debut on an electric SUV concept set to debut in late July.

There is precious little seen on the teaser pic, aside from the boxy outlines of the car and its front door-mounted side mirrors. According to the manufacturer, clarity and laconic presentation are the main highlights of the new design. Using only eco-friendly materials also ranks high on the list: there will be no leather or chrome anywhere in the new generation.

The cabin stays minimalist as well, with its signature round display in the middle of the dash – but the display becomes touch-sensitive in its new version. Many of us will know to appreciate that all major in-car functions will be relegated to hardware buttons, rather that touch interfaces.
