Mini cars have never been known for their performance in particular, but the latest video from Carwow sees one example powered by a Hayabusa bike engine take on a Ford Mustang GT on a quarter-mile drag strip.
Powering the Mustang is a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 equipped with enhanced intake and exhaust components to raise the power to 490 PS (483 hp / 360 kW). The torque stays unchanged at 530 Nm (391 lb-ft). A ten-speed automatic transmission carries it to the rear wheels.
The Mini is also RWD, but uses a six-speed sequential transmission instead. Its 1.3-liter Hayabusa motorbike engine makes only 180 PS (177 hp / 132 kW) and 150 Nm (110 lb-ft), but there is no discounting the fact that the car weighs as little as 500 kilograms (1,100 pounds). The Mustang is a whale in comparison with 1,730 kg (3,814 lbs). Watch the video and rest assured that there will be no easy victory for the American muscle car.
