MINI Aceman e-CUV crops up in a video

MINI is getting ready to introduce a new crossover SUV concept called the Aceman. When it reaches production, it might turn out being a battery EV for China, although details are scarce right now.

Judging by the teaser vid, the car deviates quite a bit from the brand’s signature style. For instance, new trapezoid Matrix LED headlights come to replace the iconic round headlamps, and while the taillight patterns still resemble the Union Jack, all lights now support animations.

The production car shapes up to be smaller than the latest Countryman and likely more powerful than the marque’s only EV on ale right now, the Cooper SE. Having said that, it might as well share the platform with the SE.

Speaking of the existing electric hatchback, it uses a single electric motor with 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) to get from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in around seven seconds. MINI previewed a soft-top convertible variant of it not long ago, but said it had no intention of actually releasing it.
