MINI unveils sketches of its first-ever EV

MINI has revealed first official images showing the first series-produced all-electric car model in its lineup. The vehicle is scheduled for international premiere in 2019.

The photos depict a wheel with a cross-spoke pattern and a purely decorative hexagonal element that will occupy the place of the radiator grille. Both details are identical to the ones the MINI Electric Concept debuted with last year.

For better aerodynamic performance, the pseudo-grille will most likely be solid in the final production version.

It seems likely that the environmentally clean MINI will inherit other traits from its conceptual antecedent as well. Some of the elements may be printed out using 3D printing tech.

The cars will be assembled in the BMW works in Cowley, Great Britain. Performance and prices will be disclosed (much) later.
