MINI Aceman shown running final pre-production tests

MINI has shared some photos of an all-new compact CUV named Aceman that it had been developing based on the 2022 Aceman Concept. The EV is still a camo-wrapped prototype, but it is already close to production. Rumor has it the premiere will take place in Paris, France in late April.

According to the manufacturer, the all-electric Aceman combines the principal advantages of the Cooper and Countryman models. As a result, it will slot in between these two models in the company’s lineup. It will primarily target those customers who would like to drive a MINI crossover, but need a more compact option than the Countryman.

The Aceman is a five-seater sized 4,075 x 1,754 x 1,495 mm (159.2 x 68.5 x 58.4 inches) large.

Having thoroughly tested the EV beyond the Arctic circle, the manufacturer is currently putting it through the wringer in hotter climes. Aside from the usual suspension and powertrain tests, the company is looking into HVAC performance. The latest MINI climate control system additionally controls the temperature of the battery pack.

In terms of specifics, all we know at this moment is that the battery will be 54.2 kilowatt-hours large. The MINI Cooper SE hatchback has the same pack and gets roughly 400 km (250 miles) out of it. The new CUV will likely be heavier, so its range should be smaller than that.
