The guys over at Hoonigan AutoFocus are responsible for turning this classical Mini Cooper into the Micro Hoon, a supercharged monster driven by a 4.8-liter LS V8.
There was absolutely no way the massive V8 could fit into the tiny engine bay of the Cooper, which had never known any engines larger than a V4. This is why the tuner had to tear off the hood cover and leave it at that. Even like this, the humongous mill still rises a good 20 centimeters (8 inches) above the front end, severely limiting the driver’s field of view. Guess that wasn’t the priority, though.
The cabin of the Micro Hoon has been stripped clean of everything not absolutely necessary for racing. The AutoFocus team lowered the suspension and redirected the torque from the front axle to the rear one. Finally, it installed an enormous sports-grade exhaust system with an intimidating soundtrack of its own.
Watch the video, it is well worth it.
