Mini celebrates 60 years of the Cooper

Did you know the Cooper badge first appeared on a Mini car in 1961? This means it turns sixty this year, reason enough to launch an Anniversary Edition.

The car comes based on the John Cooper Works version and is already available to order in the United States from $39,900. It comes finished green with white hood stripes and red accents. The top and the side mirrors are also white, and there is a red insert in the radiator grille.

The special edition pays homage to Cooper Car Company, which John Cooper and his father founded back in 1948. The famous constructor succeeded at Formula One racing and even won multiple championships driving a racer with the number 74. That’s what the ‘Cooper’ and ‘74’ badges on the anniversary car refer to.
