There is an unspoken rule among tuning enthusiasts that cars are best modified right before the warm season – after all, nothing beats driving around in perfect weather. Still, a customization shop named Maxi-Tuner decided to break that rule by building a MINI John Cooper Works that it called ‘4-season FunMini’, suggesting that climate doesn’t have to get in the way of fun.
The hot hatch ended up with a purpose-made aerodynamic front end and a rear spoiler with Gurney flaps at the sides. The company claims both parts enhance handling and power delivery to the ground. Even more can be achieved with a custom coil-over suspension kit called Conquistador: it may look rather low in the photos, but the tuner says it’s the Comfort setting, so it probably goes even lower than that.
Last but not least, the stock four-cylinder turbo under the hood gets massaged to 278 PS (274 hp / 204 kW) and 390 Nm (288 lb-ft) of torque. Most of the tuning is done with the help of an external ECU.
How do you like this all-season MINI John Cooper Works?
