New five-door Mini Cooper spied testing with an IC engine

Mini has so far only introduced the electric three-door version of its Cooper hatchback (see video). However, the recently snapped spy shots suggest that the five-door petrol version is still being made, too.

The test vehicle sighted had production-ready bodywork on and what looked like a finalized design. Since its three-door counterpart has already been fully revealed, the five-door version has no surprises left in store. There is no visible tailpipe anywhere, so the spec is neither Cooper S nor John Cooper Works. Still, it is clearly an ICE car.

Things look more different in the cabin. The dashboard looks much simpler and lacks the traditional instrument cluster. Even in these photos, you can see that there’s no dedicated display for the driver – just an infotainment touchscreen in the middle and a heads-up display.
