Mini has posted a teaser vid showing their famous Cooper vehicle donning a new green brand logo. Industry professionals take this as a sign that the company will open the New York International Auto Show starting tomorrow with a premiere of its first-evet production-ready electric car.
Rumor has it that the new battery-powered Mini will accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in around 7.5 seconds and offer a driving range of some 300 kilometers (185 miles). It’s also likely to debut as the Mini Cooper E.
Spy photos showing Mini development mules running various road tests in the unforgiving environment of the Arctic Circle leaked online some time ago.
The original Mini Electric Concept debuted at the last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
