MINI debuts an all-electric Cooper at NY auto show

MINI has unveiled a brand-new, all-electric Cooper hatchback concept on the first press day of the 2018 New York Intl. Motor Show. The car is expected to enter mass production next year.

The conceptual vehicle received a single electric engine with undisclosed characteristics and a humble battery set enough for a driving range of slightly above 100 kilometers. Its top going speed is restricted to 120 km/h (74.5 mph). MINI promises over 300 kilometers of driving range and 7.5-second acceleration to 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) for the production car.

The initial MINI Electric Concept debuted at the Frankfurt International Motor Show a year ago. The car manufacturer is currently running final pre-production road tests.
