10,000,000th Mini rolls off the band

Mini has two milestones to celebrate this year: 60 years since the production start and 10 million cars produced.

The 10,000,000th Mini just rolled off the assembly line in Oxford, England, where the company opened its very first factory 60 long years ago. The compact hatchback will soon lead the Oxford–Bristol auto rally consisting of 60 Mini vehicles from different eras. The International Mini Meeting will then commence in Bristol.

The company has sold 5.3 million Minis throughout its entire history. From the start, the marque attracted customers with its affordability, fuel efficiency, small dimensions, and innovative mid-engine layout, which allowed for more interior space.

The driving experience was also superb, warranting the Mini Cooper S high rankings in professional races starting from late 1960s. With over 400,000 units sold in 2018, the compact urban car continues to be popular nowadays.
