MINI celebrated the International Woman’s Day on March, 8 by releasing a limited series of Pat Moss Edition 3- and 5-door hatchbacks. The cars come with new exterior and interior styling cues playing on the theme of tulips.
A total of 800 such vehicles will be offered based on the expensive Cooper S and John Cooper Works trims. The company claims that the success of famous female racer Pat Moss and her co-pilot Ann Wisdom put a start to a series of motorsport triumphs for Mini. Six decades ago, the all-female crew piloted a Mini during the Tulip Rally along the course of Noordwijk – Monte Carlo – Noordwijk.
Mini asked its female employees to assist with the design of the special edition. The cars ended up with red side mirror housings and a gradient paint scheme combining red, silver and black shades flowing smoothly into one another. Buyers can choose between black and white for the main color, but that’s it.
The transverse white caption “737 ABL” on the hood references Pat Moss’ license plate number. The whole exterior will be decorated with numerous tiny images of tulips, the company says, but there are none on the photos.
Inside, the flowers will adorn the steering wheel and some other elements. Other noteworthy highlights include special kick plate covers, Pat Moss’ signature on the dash, and an ornament resembling engine pistons.
