Next-gen Mini hatchback leaks online ahead of premiere

In the latest bunch of leaked shots, the new Mini Cooper S flaunts its naked body and lets us see everything down to the smallest detail without having to wait for the official reveal scheduled for later this year.

In all likelihood, whoever snapped the photos did so at an official ad shoot site. The hatchback is pictured with enlarged oval headlamps, a bigger radiator grille, and a smoother front fascia trim lacking corner intakes. A glance at the rear end reveals clear-cut taillights connected with a black trim piece.

The version shown here is marked as a Cooper S, so that’s the assumption we are going with. There are no visible tailpipes at the rear end, either, but the all-electric version is usually called the Cooper SE. We haven’t heard yet that Mini intended to ditch the petrol engine completely and offer an all-electric Cooper S instead, so we assume the tailpipes are merely hidden from view.
