Mini announces the Cooper S Delaney Edition

Car manufacturer Mini works on a special series of the Cooper S hatchback, titled the Delaney Edition. A total of 350 copies will roll off the assembly lines, wearing a unique lacquering that mimics the livery of the Porsche 917 featured in the movie “Le Mans” (1971).

The movie tells the story of Michael Delaney, a heroic racing driver, played by Steve McQueen. Piloting his trusty Porsche 917, Michael fights against German racer Erich Stahler in an action-packed 24-hour-long endurance race for the gold award.

The Mini Cooper S Delaney Edition follows the same color scheme as the Porsche 917 featured in the movie. Its body is light blue with orange stripes on the spoiler, side mirrors and hood. The front and rear lights, as well as the radiator grille, are outlined with glossy-black rims. The special edition also ships with a set of exclusive 18-inch wheels.

The car will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 192 hp (143 kW) under its command. Paired with a 7-speed DCT transmission, it accelerates the vehicle 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.7 seconds.

Interior features include sporty-looking leather seats, climate control, infotainment system, HUD, advanced speaker set, cruise control, parking assistance, and rain sensor.

The price will be announced later.
