In spite of the fact that six years ago Japanese closed the Eclipse project, the last press release of Mitsubishi brought pleasant news to all admirers of the model. The compact Eclipse Cross crossover prepares for the March debut in Geneva.
The modernized Mitsubishi Outlander platform forms a basis for the new car. The chassis will become more rigid, and the car will have a multilever suspender behind. The exterior in many respects repeats the design of XR-PHEV II concept. It is expected that Eclipse Cross will be equiped with 1,5-liter petrol turbo engine (120 h.p.) or diesel motor 2.2.
Initially Mitsubishi Eclipse was the sporty coupe, which debut took place in 1989. Then Japanese launched 3 more generations of the model, and in 2011 the assembly of Eclipse was stopped.
