Mitsubishi Airtrek EV debuts in production form

Mitsubishi may have only revealed the original Airtrek Concept a few months ago, but here comes its production version already.

It is a China-only EV sharing the name with an Outlander version from several years ago, but little else. Its main distinguishing features are LED headlights bent into the shape of the number 7, slim DRLs and a solid front panel with grey bars. A closer look reveals a video camera straight under the badge. The taillights are also quite unique and reminiscent of the Skoda Karoq.

The interior is minimalistic with barely any hardware buttons in sight. The infotainment and the dashboard displays are large and support augmented reality for navigation.

Power comes from a 69.9-kWh traction battery rated for 520 km (323 miles) of range. The powertrain produces 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW).

Sales will start next year.
