Mitsubishi reveals an upcoming compact CUV

Mitsubishi plans to release a small crossover SUV based on its XFC Concept (see video) that will be marketed as a cheaper alternative to the ASX model and sold primarily in Asian countries.

Today, the manufacturer has released three teaser pics of the car. You will find them at the beginning of our gallery below. The rest of the gallery shows the XFC Concept for comparison purposes.

The first image shows a front fascia that looks much like its prototype with similar headlights, a sculpted hood and a fragment of the front bumper. It looks like the production car might ditch the most exotic design traits of the prototype underway to production, but the overall styling will remain the same.

The other images reveal the audio speakers of the two-band Yamaha sound system on board. These can be seen both on the doors and the a-pillars.

We are promised a roomy interior and solid off-road performance, with Mitsubishi emphasizing the car is very comfortable to drive on bad roads – an essential quality for those living in the rural regions of Southeastern Asia. The electronics on board will offer a dedicated mode for wet road driving, too.

The premiere will take place in Indonesia on August 10.
