Mitsubishi hasn’t given us too many things to write about lately – the company lost many fans when it switched attention from light passenger cars to SUVs. This Mitsubishi Eclipse is a big exception to the rule, however.
The coupe belongs to Miguel Martinez, Marketing Director of Bisimoto Engineering, which explains why it looks so professionally built. At the core of the project is the engine and transmission swap with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. What was once a mundane FWD car with 140 hp (104 kW) under the hood becomes an AWD track tool with a rally-spec gearbox and 400 hp (298 kW) at its disposal. Sprint times weren’t measured, but one can imagine them being way more impressive than the stock ones.
Lowered suspension and a new aerodynamic kit lend the car a sportier aura, and 18-inch RAYS Gram Lights 57DR wheels contribute to that impression. Bucket seats and a roll cage can be seen inside, hinting at the fact that this could very well be a potent track tool.
