Mitsubishi Delica Mini bows in Tokyo

Mitsubishi has unveiled a ‘new’ Kei car it named the Delica Mini at the Tokyo Auto Salon, essentially putting some lipstick on the eK X Space.

Both cars share the same bodywork, although the Delica Mini rocks a more aggressive front end, a rugged body kit, new headlights and more ground clearance thanks to suspension tweaks.

The engines are all the same: you can specify your three-cylinder in naturally aspirated form and get 52 PS (51 hp / 38 kW) and 60 Nm (44 lb-ft) of torque, or opt for a turbo and get 64 PS (63 hp / 47 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft). Both versions receive assistance from an electric starter-generator during the initial acceleration. A CVT carries the momentum to the front wheels by default, but AWD is available as a paid option.

The interiors are also identical save for the trim on the seats and the trunk area lining. There is also one new optional feature: a rearview mirror capable of displaying the footage from the rear-facing video camera.
