Mitsubishi to reveal an off-road-going L200 pickup

Mitsubishi will officially announce a special edition of its L200 pickup truck at the upcoming 2019 Bangkok International Motor Show kicking off on March 27.

Based on the image provided, the car will be getting improved off-road capabilities, including higher ground clearance, larger wheels, and some extra equipment.

In particular, the new Mitsubishi L200 will get LED headlights, a roof-mounted light rack, and bumpers with guard plates and decorative red inserts.

From the technical point of view, the car will ship with the same old 2.4-liter diesel engine mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Its exact performance isn’t being discussed yet.

The Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck series went through its latest facelift in the fall of 2018. In accordance with the company’s new design philosophy called Dynamic Shield, the car gained two-tier lighting and some other new design features. It is currently available with a choice between two 4WD systems (Easy Select and Super Select 4WD-II), and ships with performance brakes.
