According to the press service of Mitsubishi, the Japanese automaker will be attending the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show* in October with a new crossover/SUV concept.
The company gives us a single teaser image with the news. The rest is only some basic details. For instance, it is claimed that the SUV will ‘bring together the latest in AWD control and hybrid powertrain technology’. As a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), it will feature an electric all-wheel-drive system and a compact-sized transmission.
Mitsubishi also promises that the electrified SUV will deliver ‘unparalleled driving pleasure’ and ‘enviable personal safety’.
Aside from the mysterious concept, the automaker will be revealing an SUV version of the Lancer Evo. Rumor has it that the car will be based on the 2017 e-Evolution Concept, which you can see in our gallery here.
*Two different auto shows take place in Tokyo, Japan: the Tokyo Auto Salon, which is annual and usually held in January, and the Tokyo Motor Show, which is biennial and held in October. Both are held in 2019.
