JDM Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Final Edition can be yours for £68k

The history of the popular Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution came to an end with the Final Edition six years ago. Having become a rarity, the Evo X grew more and more expensive over the years until a slightly used, non-stock example cropped up on sale in the UK priced at £68,000.

The Final Edition comprised 3,100 units, and this one was imported into Great Britain from Japan. It currently has a touch under 5,000 kilometers (3,000 miles) on the counter, and the seller claims it is being sold in “as-new” condition with all the necessary maintenance done.

This leaves one major point unaddressed: the tuning. On the outside, mods are limited to a Ralliart front splitter and custom 18-inch BBS rollers. Found inside are aftermarket audio components from Focal and Pioneer, a couple of new gauges, and a carbon fiber cover for the dash panel.

Things run different in the engine bay, too. A number of components are non-OEM, and there is an engine tune that squeezes 400 metric horsepower (394 hp / 294 kW) out of the stock 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. This is a rather serious upgrade over the standard 307 PS (303 hp / 226 kW), and one has to wonder if it has affected the integrity of the drivetrain. The five-speed manual gearbox and AWD system stay unmodded.

Now, we would be wondering who in their sane mind would hand over £68,000 (around $90,000 USD) for a used JDM Evo X, but the seller seems to have an ace up their sleeve. Apparently, all the original parts have been kept and can be used to revert the car to its initial condition, should the buyer not like the tuning.
