CarWOW has arranged a race between a rally car from the past and another one from the present. A state-of-the-art Toyota GR Yaris challenged a 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition.
Starting with the GR Yaris, it is a homologation vehicle built specifically for the WRC. Powered by a 1.6-liter turbo three-cylinder, it hits a six-speed manual transmission with 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque.
The Lancer Evolution is a special edition dedicated to quadruple WRC champion Tommi Mäkinen. It has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo good for 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW) and 373 Nm (275 lb-ft) of torque. A five-speed manual gearbox drives all four wheels.
