Special Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution underway to auction

A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition will soon be available to bid for in the UK, and is expected to fetch between £60,000 and £70,000.

The sedan was number 60 out of 250 Tommi Makinen units sold in Great Britain, and one out of only 50 finished in Canal Blue. It is reported to be in an excellent condition with low mileage: a touch above 25,000 miles, or 40,000 kilometers. It only had two owners, and close relatives, at that.

Aftermarket mods are to blame for the relatively low price estimates. The engine, for example, uses a new fuel pump, induction control unit, intake system, and ECU. The seller claims the mods enable it to make 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW), which is roughly 50 horsepower above the OEM number. The brakes, exhaust and carbon-fiber body kit are also new, and the interior has been re-trimmed in places.

The first sedan in the Tommi Makinen Edition series went under the hammer at the same auction in UK last August, attracting a top bid of £146,250. Observers say this example should not be nearly as expensive.
