Mitsubishi reveals its USA roadmap

Mitsubishi has announced its product range expansion plans for the United States, setting launch timeframes for the Outlander PHEV, Mirage, and Outlander Sport/ASX, as well as the brand-new Outlander and the facelifted Eclipse Cross.

The Outlander PHEV and Mirage will get their updates later this year, and the Outlander Sport should follow slightly later, getting minor improvements across the board. The Eclipse Cross will be getting its first major facelift in the first quarter of 2021, ending up with redesigned front, rear and interior. It will also benefit from extended multimedia features.

The fourth-generation Outlander will come out a few months after that, but still in the first half of 2021. The much-anticipated car has been repeatedly spotted on the streets before, but this is the first time Mitsubishi names anything like a launch date.

According to the press release, the new Outlander features a “bold design” and aims to become the Japanese marque’s quietest and best-equipped vehicle in North America. While not official, the consensus is that it will take after the Engelberg Tourer Concept revealed last year (watch the video if you need a reminder).
