Mitsubishi to release 700x Pajero Final Edition in Japan

Mitsubishi is discontinuing its Pajero SUV line in Japan and will be releasing 700 Pajero Final Edition cars on that market in August.

The farewell series comes based on the Exceed trim version with the 3.2-liter diesel engine and automatic transmission. Novelty comes in the form of a new paintjob, expensive leather upholstery, backlit running boards, special series logos, and a plaque with the car’s serial number.

The features include roof railings, curtain and side airbags, rear diff lock, panoramic glass roof, and power-assisted front seats.

The minimum price tag for the Mitsubishi Pajero Final Edition translates into U.S. $40,500.

FYI: the original Pajero came out in 1982. A total of 640,000 units have been sold in Japan over the years. The car has gone through four generations, although you might be justified in calling the fourth and last generation a mere facelift of the third one.
