Mitsubishi Ralliart resurrection is not what most of us expected

Mitsubishi has unveiled the first cars bearing the resurrected Ralliart badge in Thailand. We had kind of hoped to see some sports cars, but as it now turns out, these are special editions of the Triton (L200) pickup and Pajero Sport SUV.

As if that weren’t enough, both make do with purely cosmetic changes. There are red mud flaps, special floor mats, black grilles and 18-inch wheels, and black side mirrors (Triton only). The bumpers sport red inserts and decals, and the Pajero Sport gets a spoiler.

Buyers will only be able to choose black or white for the exterior finish, with a black roof envisioned for the SUV. The truck will be obtainable in Mega Cab (two-door) and Double Cab (four-door) variants.

Like before, the Pajero Sport comes powered by a 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine rated at 181 PS (179 hp / 133 kW), which an eight-speed automatic transmission carries to the wheels. The Triton has a five-speed manual box and a 2.5-liter turbo diesel rated at 128 PS (126 hp / 94 kW). There is no AWD for either.
