Mitsubishi has unveiled a facelifted version of its Xpander van for Middle East countries, Latin America and Southeastern Asia. Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha in Indonesia will handle the production.
In its freshest form, the Xpander keeps the large front grille with C-shaped side details, the so-called ‘Dynamic Shield’ look. The front bumper gains weight and looks more imposing now, while the headlights sport T-shaped patterns. The exterior alterations have added 75 mm (3 inches) to the front overhang and 45 mm (1.8 inches) to the rear overhang, so the car is now 4,595 mm (179.5 inches) long head to tail.
The chassis makes use of new rear shocks and larger 17-inch wheels replacing 16-inch ones. The ground clearance makes 220-225 mm (8.6 – 8.8 inches) now depending on the specification instead of the pre-facelift 205 mm (8 inches). AWD is still not on the list of options.
Inside, the front panel is new and houses a horizontal display. There are also a tiny HVAC panel and an electro-mechanical handbrake button on the center tunnel. The steering wheel has a sporty vibe to it.
Other than that, there are three rows of seats as usual, and customers can opt for some new trim details, such as armrest and door panel overlays.
The stock 1.5-liter engine continues pumping out 105 PS (104 hp / 77 kW), but now recirculates exhaust gases to save gas. The gearbox is now CVT instead of four-speed automatic.
