Feast your eyes on the one and only Mitsuoka Rock Star 2.0 LHD

Around four years ago, Japanese tuner Mitsuoka announced the coming of the Rock Star, a Mazda MX-5 roadster with some C2 Corvette styling cues. A total of 200 units were made (see video), but the last one was different from the rest. It is now participating in a prize draw in Canada, so let us throw a glance at it once more.

Dubbed the Mitsuoka Rock Star 2.0 LHD Only1 Special, it is a gorgeous red roadster with distinct American retro car vibes and swanky chrome accents. It is also the only Rock Star with a left-hand drive system rather than RHD, because a customer from Canada commissioned it.

Our favorite highlights include stainless-steel body kit parts, chromed sills with built-in LEDs at the front, and round taillights in the back. Classical five-spoke chromed wheels wear BFGoodrich tires, and the new vented hood is much more muscular-looking than stock.

A look inside reveals an abundance of red and black leather with a Mitsuoka logo on the steering wheel. Power comes from the standard Mazda Skyactiv-G 2.0 mill good for 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) and 205 Nm (152 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission carries it to the rear wheels. Weighing in barely above 1,100 kg (2,425 lbs), the roadster feels much sportier than the numbers may suggest.

The draw ends on February 14.
