Morgan Motor, a famous UK-based manufacturer of vintage-themed sport cars packed with modern technology, has published another pic of its upcoming, still unnamed 3 Wheeler replacement.
The image is a said to be a frame out of a short movie filmed for the launch of the car, which is scheduled to take place on February 24, 2022.
The specifics are scarce, but Morgan CEO Steve Morris says the car will be all-new and not based on any existing platform. It may also come powered by a Ford three-cylinder engine, although this is not guaranteed. More importantly, the company intends to drastically expand customization opportunities with this new model, something that it will demonstrate in detail on the first production units built.
The original 3 Wheeler ran on a V2 engine rated at 83 PS (82 hp / 61 kW), which was mounted in the back and exposed for everyone to see. The new car, if earlier prototype photos are to be believed, hides its engine under a proper hood. The design team promises to keep the retro stylistic alive by fashioning the new Morgan after the world’s first jet planes. As for the engine upgrade, the company admits that it was forced to wave the old two-cylinder goodbye because it ceased to comply with the environmental laws.
No other details have been disclosed, but the company is already registering pre-orders.
