Morgan has revealed the LM62 Edition of its iconic Plus Four model, paying homage to the 1962 Le Mans race. The tech stays the same, so see if you care about its retro aesthetic if you wanted one.
What happened at the 24 Hours of Le Mans more than half a century ago? Ferrari claimed the entire pedestal, but Morgan won in its own 2.0L category, crossing the finish line ahead of some more powerful rivals. Pilots Christopher Lawrence and Richard Shepherd-Baron ended up covering 3,629 km (2,255 miles) at an average speed of 150 km/h (93 mph). Naturally, the winning racecar was a Plus 4.
To celebrate 60 years of that victory, the company will be releasing 62 Plus Four LM62 units with special body graphics adorned with the number of the winning racer – 29. There are also retro wheels finished in silver and assorted special badging and captions both on the body and inside the cabin.
Prices begin from £78,995.
