U.S.-based automaker Mullen will introduce a hyper-SUV called Five RS on August 20. Packing 1,115 PS (1,100 hp / 820 kW), it will be able to hit 322 km/h (200 mph) in a straight line.
The company neglected to mention the motor count, but we would imagine at least two being necessary for proper delivery of such power to all four wheels. Mullen did say that going 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) would be a matter of 1.9 seconds.
The wheels are shod in 325/35 R21 tires, and the suspension and brakes are robust enough to handle racing loads, the startup company says. Those in the mood for a test drive will be able to book one in Monterey on Sunday, but not in the driver’s position: a pro racer will take the seat.
Battery and range specifications are pending. The original Mullen Five SUV (in the rest of the gallery and the video below) debuted a couple of years ago. Back then, the company reported getting 25,000 pre-orders in the first week. No news has followed since then.
