Volkswagen to get rid of Lamborghini

Lamborghini has been demonstrating excellent financial performance lately, especially since its latest release – the SUV Urus – doubled the sales. Despite this, Volkswagen Group is seriously considering selling the Italian marque.

VW plans to increase its market value from 89 to 220 billion USD by 2030 – and won’t hesitate to get rid of some of its assets to do so, it seems.

It is now official that the legendary Italian supercar maker might be among the first to go. Apparently, the German corporation believes it will benefit more from this one-time deal than it does from the sales – and the positive sale dynamics will only serve to ramp up the price.

That said, the final decision hasn’t been met yet, and the official sale statement (if any) will be published no sooner than late 2020.

By doing this, the Germans intend to focus on developing their core brands – Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche. As for the Skoda and Seat, the former will be adjusted to become more affordable, whereas the latter will climb up to the premium segment.
