Video: A90 Toyota Supra finally hits 1,000+ HP

Tuners seem to have been paying the new 2020 Supra more and more attention lately. Various masters have already managed lifting the engine output to 400, 600 and even 700-something horsepower. Today, Papadakis Racing sets a new high with 1,000+ hp (750+ kW) at the crank.

One of the things the old Supra was popular for was its legendary turbo-six engine, 2JZ-GTE, which lent itself easily to 1,000+ hp mods. Hitting the same power level with the new Supra was an affair of honor; besides, there were doubts whether the new BMW B58 engine was up to the task at all.

It was, apparently, as Papadakis Racing shows us in the video. Not much is being provided in terms of fine technicalities, but we know that the cylinder assembly and the crankshaft are the two parts that remained stock, against all odds. It is implied that most of the parts are no longer stock – and we wouldn’t be surprised, given the more-than-triple power boost.

Watch the video to hear Stephan Papadakis himself explain just how he managed to strike a result as impressive as this.
