Porsche Taycan challenges Tesla Model S to a quarter-mile duel

YouTube channel Car Benchmarks has decided to put an end to the debates on whether the Tesla Model S P100D is faster than the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. The team arranged for a classical drag race and an experimental race where the drivers had to evade an obstacle and get back into the lane.

With 761 hp (567 kW) of cumulative engine power and 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) of torque, the Taycan Turbo S currently reigns supreme in the Porsche EV lineup. According to the official specs, it only needs 2.8 seconds to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph).

Its archrival – the Tesla Model S P100D – packs 773 hp (576 kW) and 967 Nm (713 lb-ft) of torque. The manufacturer claims it runs the standard 0-60 mph sprint in 2.6 seconds.
