Hyundai reveals the 2021 Santa Fe SUV

The fourth generation of the Hyundai Santa Fe had barely been around for a few years, but the manufacturer still decided it was time for a mid-life refresh. In its 2021 version, the car gets brand-new tech, looks, accessories and cabin trim.

The front end in particular looks new and exciting, and there are now red strips connecting the taillights. Customers may pay extra for the Luxury Package, which adds 20-inch wheels (previously capped at 19 inches) and a body kit now color-matched to the body (previously black).

Inside, most plastic parts have gained Soft Touch surfaces, while the touch-enabled infotainment display grew from 8 to 10.25 inches in size. The 12.3-inch digital dashboard is also completely new, as are the center tunnel and center console.

As impressive as the aesthetic aspect of the update is, it isn’t all about the looks. The new Santa Fe utilizes the same basic architecture as the Hyundai Sonata and the Kia Sorento, which grants it a lower center of gravity, easier steering, improved vibration reduction, and extra safety. The new Terrain Mode introduces a selector knob on the center console that drivers can use to adjust suspension settings for various terrain types.

Nothing is being revealed about the engines, although Hyundai does mention that the new Santa Fe will additionally be available as a mild hybrid and a PHEV.

Sales in South Korea will begin later this month, with the Europe launch scheduled for September.
