11th-gen Honda Civic exposed on patent pics

The images of the eleventh-gen Honda Civic reveal the hatchback version of the car that looks meaningfully different from its predecessors, but still recognizable.

The new Civic forgoes all of its former edginess and aggression in favor of smoother outlines and some added body length. There are LED strips connecting both the headlights and the taillights, and the rest looks more or less like it always did.

The model should debut next spring in hatchback and sedan body versions.

The currently available Civic (see video for more) comes equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine rated at 141 hp (105 kW). You may also opt for a diesel engine (120 hp / 90 kW) or any of the available turbocharged variants (126 – 182 hp; 94 – 136 kW). The next generation will see the emergence of a two-liter turbo hybrid spec rated close to 400 hp (300 kW), anonymous sources claim.
