Car Tuning

How do you like this long-legged Ford F-250?

Suspension lift counts among the most frequent modifications of SUVs and pickup trucks, but the important thing to remember is that it does not directly translate into better off-road performance. Sometimes it is there purely for show – and this Ford F-250 is no exception.

Nevada-based tuner Elite Customs Auto Body carried out the job. The car, which only had 8,241 miles (around 13,250 kilometers) under its belt, received massive metallic bumpers, a custom radiator grille and plenty of auxiliary lighting. An air intake assumed its place on the hood, and the stock exhaust system was ditched in favor of a sportier design.

What really sets the project apart from most, however, is the ridiculous ride height. Courtesy of a heavily modified air-ride suspension, it amounts to a whopping 38 centimeters (14.8 inches). Completing the truck’s transformation into an all-terrain combat mech are insane 28x16-inch wheels.

The diesel engine gets an unspecified power boost, and the cabin enjoys a makeover in black leather with light blue stitching to match the suspension and chassis.

The truck is currently up for grabs at Mecum Auctions Dallas, but don’t expect to buy it and drive it into the wilderness: chances are it will tip over at the first convenience.
