BMW M135i gets boosted to 650 PS and slammed to the ground

Most BMW fans tend to agree than the F40 generation of the 1 Series comes second to the previous F20 generation in just about everything, starting from its switch from RWD to FWD and ending with a considerable power loss. Ray Venter, the owner of this F20 M135i, is no exception.

Rather than buying new for the sake of new, he went and fitted his ride’s inline-six with dual spherical Precision 6062 turbochargers, a high-pressure blow-off valve, a BMS intercooler, a 100mm air intake system, and a major ECU update. All said and done, the powertrain started pushing 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) to the wheels in normal mode and 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) in Boost mode with higher induction pressure.

For the tuning not to go unnoticed, Ray swapped the stock exhaust system out for a performance-oriented Megalodon unit and installed height-adjustable air suspension. The car body received a mix of aftermarket parts, mostly by BMW Performance and Maxton. Slightly tinted lights all around and carbon-fiber badges round off what is decidedly an interesting one-off project.
